Wine for mac windows compiler3/5/2023 ![]() Localedef -c -f charmaps/ISO-8859-6 -i locales/ar_SA. Localedef -c -f charmaps/ISO-8859-6 -i locales/ar_SA ar_SA So, I downloaded the locales package from debian (the only one I could find) and attempted: The conclusion that I've come to (which might be wrong) is that I need to use localedef to compile a new locale, so that ar_SA (or any other ar locale) is available on the system. ![]() However, it seems that Mac OS X displays Arabic using unicode, so this doesn't help my application, which requires the non-unicode encoding for Arabic. I've read elsewhere about changing the language in OS X system preferences to achieve the same effect in wine. Arabic is not one of them.Įssentially, it seems that the problem is not wine, but the fact that the locale ar_SA doesn't exist in OSX/Darwin. However, on Mac OS X 10.6, there are only a handful of locales available with locale -a and a handful of charmaps with locale -m. This works fine on linux and the program runs and displays correctly. After some research, the problem can be fixed by adding LANG=ar_SA before the 'wine' command. ![]() This application is in the Arabic language, but it does not support unicode. I need to use a legacy windows application in CrossOver/Wine on Mac OS X.
